How we get the personal information
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
- To subscribe you to our programme newsletter
- To communicate with you in relation to a TechxFest event you have registered to attend
We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:
- MailChimp – if you subscribe to our audience list in the future
- We collect information about you when you visit our website for the first time, and when you interact with our pages. Website usage information is collected using cookies.
Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. This information is used to track visitor use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity. For further information visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org.
You can set your browser not to accept cookies and the above websites tell you how to remove cookies from your browser. However, in a few cases some of our website features may not function as a result.
Sometimes we’ll embed content in our pages that we don’t control or operate. This is common for social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. When you interact with these elements, which are always marked clearly, you’ve not interacted with our website but instead the service embedded, and we can’t guarantee what data is collected.
Our website search is powered by Google. Search queries and results are logged anonymously to help us improve our website and search functionality. No user-specific data is collected by either us or any third party.
We use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
